Choosing A Sign Company

When choosing which sign company, make sure you verify that they are legitimate. Ask to see proof of proper licensing (which will vary from state to state) and verify that they are properly insured. If you are interested in an electric sign, make sure their manufacturing plant is being inspected regularly by a regulatory agency such as UL or MET, and that they are fabricating signs with components recognized by one of these testing labs. When dealing with a sign company on a local basis, meet your sales representative face-to-face, request references and a tour of the sign manufacturing plant. Take the time to check those references and to take that tour. The references should give you a good feel for how this company has treated previous clients and a tour will allow you see how other signs are being manufactured, and will also let you know if your sign company is really even in the manufacturing business. Many companies subcontract the manufacturing process out. While that’s not always a bad thing, it can make it challenging for that company to control the quality and lead time as related to the sign fabrication processes. Your sign is a significant investment and an important tool to the success of your business. Therefore, it’s important to get it right, the first time.
